Storage
LeftHand Networks, now owned by Hewlett Packard, delivers physical and virtual storage area networks (SANs) that are easy to grow, easy to manage and designed to perform optimally in today's global data centers. LeftHand Networks pioneered IP based SANs in 2001, and their innovative scalable SAN solutions are built for businesses of every size and are ideal for storage and server consolidation, multi-site SANs and disaster recovery. SAN/iQ software is specifically designed to distribute and protect customer data by leveraging a cluster of industry standard storage nodes. A patented architecture increases data availability and allows users to start small and grow their SAN seamlessly, simplifying management.
This open systems approach to storage allows our customers to deploy full-featured iSCSI SANs built on the award winning SAN/iQ software onto tier one x86 servers from leading OEMs, including HP, IBM and DELL. Data centers equipped with VMWare ESX servers can also install the Virtual SAN Appliance (VSA) software to create a highly available SAN with internal disk drives that leverage all the advanced features of a VMWare environment with requiring the purchase of an external SAN. Physical and Virtual SAN products provide:
- High Availability, LeftHand's iSCSI SANs protect against system and site failures with built in network RAID and synchronous replication, providing more protection that typical hardware RAID, which only protects against disk failures.
- Scalable Performance, NSM's scale performance along with capacity from entry level 6TB SATA SAN to enterprise class 100+ TB SAS SANs.
- Integrated Enterprise Class Feature Set, every LeftHand iSCSI SAN provides a complete enterprise class storage management feature set at no additional cost.
